2024 in Review: Doubling the team and 7x-ing customers served

Everything we’re celebrating this year and what’s in store for 2025.

We built Intelligems to help ecommerce brands grow profit with onsite optimization, and in 2024, we pushed that mission further than ever before. 

We kept our product and partnerships at the forefront. For our customers, this translated into greater functionality, customization, and expert support throughout the year. And we’ve been able to drive more impact for more customers than ever before. We ended the year with game-changing new features and 7x more customers, including exciting names like Away, Dagne Dover, Raycon, and Cozy Earth.

When we weren’t heads-down on our product, we were re-investing every spare moment into our customer experience. That meant adding significant resources to our customer-facing teams and making the app easier to use.

We’re proud of the outcomes and of the countless hours, launches, pivots, and customer calls that have taken Intelligems to the next level. And we can’t wait to continue this pace in 2025 - we have so many exciting features and partnerships in the works.

Doubled down on our customer experience to support a booming customer base

In only 12 months, our customer base exploded, growing more than 7x. We also added more than 100 new agency partners, who have played a massive role in our growth and helped our customers get the most from Intelligems. 

Since we started, our customers have talked about how much they value our helpful and knowledgeable support. Scaling that best-in-class experience, in parallel with our customer base, has been a big focus this year. 

That meant a great focus on growing our internal team. We’ve added headcount to each department, ensuring we uplift and improve every aspect of the company from the inside out. As a result, our team more than doubled in 2024 (growing from 13 to 28) — and we plan to hire even more people in the new year. Our support team has gone from 1 person last year to now 6 full-time employees- all of whom are experts on the product.

Product expansion for faster, more powerful profit optimization 

We didn’t just expand the team - we also significantly expanded our feature set to help ecommerce brands precisely target new customers and optimize their websites. 

This included the launch of our biggest feature yet: Personalizations. Intelligems customers can now customize every site element — including offers, shipping, and pricing — to individual shoppers’ preferences, based off an extensive set of audience targeting capabilities. 

BTW: we also completely rebuilt that audience targeting and segmentation engine. Now, users can target things like device types, values from cookies, cities and states, and more. You can also run mutually exclusive tests to make the most of your traffic and run multiple tests cleanly in parallel.

We also added the option for multi-currency tests to our Price Testing feature. Previously, brands were limited to testing prices in their default market. Now, they can find the best pricing for each market they operate in! This has been a huge win for larger brands with robust international strategies. 

We also did a huge overhaul to our offer testing feature set. Brands can now set up volume discounts, gift-with-purchase offers, tiered discounts and more. They can A/B test these to find incremental profit or use them with personalizations to make different offers for different audiences. We also moved our entire customer base over to Shopify’s Checkout Extensibility framework, which is more robust and performant than previous checkout tests.

Throughout the year, these features drove customer wins across the board:

  • Fulton increased their landing page conversion rate by 220% 

  • Dossier boosted profit-per-visitor by 19% with a single shipping test

  • The Beyond Group increased MUD\WTR’s revenue per session by 13%

These improvements also ensured Intelligems reliably showed up for all our customers when it mattered most. Just look at BFCM. During ecommerce’s busiest season of the year, we successfully supported Shopify brands in 32 countries and processed 10x more customer data than in 2023 — all with zero downtime.

Amplifying our learnings on all things profit optimization across our community 

Our team has a collective 50 years of experience unlocking profit with dynamic pricing, content testing, and onsite optimization. This year, we wanted to prioritize sharing this experience and knowledge. We made a major effort to put out more content and lead with value.

For instance, we’ve published dozens of free educational resources — from tactical how-to guides to strategies trusted by top ecommerce brands. As well as a handful of customer stories, which highlight practical ways you can use Intelligems to solve some of Shopify brand’s biggest pain points. 

In turn, we’ve heard great feedback — this content has helped our network drive more value and profit. That’s been incredibly rewarding, and we’re excited to keep leading with value and building community in the coming year. 

After establishing ourselves as industry experts, we were lucky enough to be invited to continue these conversations with additional folks outside our direct community. Shoutout to Because, Ecom Founders, Heatmap.com, our agency partners, and eCommerce Fuel for these opportunities.

What’s next for Intelligems? Here’s a sneak peek at 2025

2024 was a year of unprecedented growth for Intelligems. Thanks to our team, customers, and investors, we look forward to helping ecommerce brands grow even more in the new year.

In 2025, we’ll be focused on making Intelligems more accessible. Part of this is expanding our reach, but it also means building more “recipes” into the app that make it easier to unlock value. We’ve built an incredibly powerful tool, but sometimes, it can be intimidating to know where to start. Keep an eye out for new initiatives around content, customer success, and an Intelligems community for people to share wins and notes. Not to mention a new-look tool with more flows than ever. 

We’re also gearing up to announce more new feature sets around analytics (we hear your pain around GA4!) and personalization (there are so many more ways to make money with this). With these new capabilities, our customers will be able to surface what motivates their customers and build shopping experiences around those preferences.
